An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure

We’ve all heard this saying and it is so true when it comes to pond management. As is normally the case, the cost and time it takes to prevent problems is far less than the cost and time it takes to fix a problem once it has occurred. So, how does this apply to pond management? There are several proactive steps you can take for the health and beauty of your pond:

  • Regularly add beneficial bacteria and enzymes to the water
  • Install an aeration system that is properly designed for your pond
  • Treat problem weeds and algae before they reach nuisance levels

Following these steps can often prevent problematic conditions such as algae blooms, high nutrient loads and poor water quality / poor water clarity.
